Hey there, lovely souls! I'm Divina, the proud owner of Depress Me Not Candles. Let me take you back to when my life was filled with darkness and pain due to an abusive relationship. It messed up my mental health, making me doubt myself and blame myself for what happened. I felt incredibly alone, even though the world was outside my door.
When that relationship finally ended, I was relieved to be free from the toxicity but I still felt broken inside. Sometimes, those memories creep back in, trying to steal away my happiness and push me back into depression. It was a tough time, with lots of stress and mental health issues.
But now, I have the love and support of my children and my new husband, which is like a suit of armor. I'm always looking toward a brighter future. Rebuilding my self-esteem and sense of worth has taken a long time, and I work on it every day.
As I started putting the pieces of my life back together, I noticed that certain small things brought me great comfort. One of those things was candles.
The soft, gentle light would almost hypnotize me, relaxing my mind, body, and soul. And certain scents had a magical effect, melting away my fears, anxiety, and stress and making me feel much better. That's when the idea for Depress Me Not Candles was born.
Our mission is simple: to bring peace and comfort to those who struggle with mental illness. If you're going through a tough time, please remember you're not alone. When you light one of our candles, I want it to remind you that someone truly cares about you. You are precious, loved, and significant in this world.
